Engineering Team Develops Low Cost Water Purification Membrane

Researchers in the Faculty of Engineering have developed a graphene based membrane that removes heavy metals from drinking water at roughly one fifth the cost of existing commercial systems.

Field trials are planned with three municipal water authorities, and a university spin out company has been established to scale manufacturing.
