One associate degree. Two majors. A route to a bachelor’s.

Open Door University offers a 3-year Associate Degree delivered over 9 academic semesters and 60 credit hours. Graduates are prepared to transfer as third-year (junior) students into partner universities in the United States, Europe and beyond, continuing toward a bachelor’s degree.

Additional majors will be introduced in the future as ODU continues to expand its academic offerings to meet the evolving needs of displaced and underserved youth.

Program structure

Two years, nine semesters, sixty credits

The program is designed so students can carry rigorous coursework alongside their other responsibilities, and finish with a credential that transfers.

3-year Associate Degree

On completing the two-year program students are awarded an Associate Degree, recognised for transfer into partner universities.

9 academic semesters

The program runs across nine semesters over two years, with a manageable course load in each one.

60 credit hours

45 credits in the major (15 courses) and 15 credits of general education (5 courses).

Transfer as a junior

Graduates enter partner universities in the U.S., Europe and beyond as third-year students.

Recognised now, formally accredited next

Open Door University is currently a member of ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International). Building on this foundation, ODU has a clear roadmap for formal accreditation.

ACSI member

ODU is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI).

United Kingdom — ODLQC

ODU plans to pursue accreditation from the Open & Distance Learning Quality Council within the next 3 years, ensuring its distance and online programs meet recognised UK quality standards.

United States — DEAC

ODU is pursuing accreditation through the Distance Education Accrediting Commission, ensuring its programs meet rigorous U.S. standards for distance and online education.
